I havent been actively blogging for a while. And since I last blogged, there have been many amazing things happening with my life.
I went to Chile in May to meet Rica and since then life has turned a different way. Apart from the fact that I fell in love with Chile, I had a great time connecting to family of Rica. My supposed " la suegra" is amazing lady. If not for Rica, I am going to learn spanish aggresively for "la suegra"
As soon as I came back from Chile ( end of June), I started apping for Rotterdam School of Management. The essays were rather easy and straight forward, however with a month break and lot of pending work , it took me almost a month to complete these essays.
Within a week I got a response from Maryke Steenkamp ( our Ad com Marketting Manager). I was Schdeuled for a Interview with Rick Rudolph ( Deputy Director Ad com).
The interview went horrible. Rick was very innovative with his questions and none of the standard questions ( such as Why MBA, why now etc etc ) were asked. The interview went on for quite long ( around 50 mins) and at end of it, I was pretty frustated with myself. I thought I had lost it! This was on Friday.
Well, things were Different on Monday. By evening, I had the Admit in My Hand!!!!
Wow! for a minute I was frozen. RSM had been one of my dream schools and I was in.
Soon the whole prepartaion began. These included:
Arranging for finances
Apostillation of Birth Certificates
Arranging for my Graduation Mark
All these have been terrible process. I can write an Epic on each of them. Being an Indian sometimes hurts. I had to spend a lot of time and energy in getting all of these in my hand.
I went to my Birth palce to get the Birth Certificate. The whole process is explained here
1. Get a fresh BC from Registrar of death and birth of your municipality( Dhanbad)
2. Take this to The Under Secretary of Home Department of your State.( Ranchi)
3. the Under Sec write a snail mail to the Registrar confirming whether the Fresh BC is Real or fake.
4. he stamps it then
5. You come to Delhi and then Apply to Ministry of External affairs in Delhi for apostillation.
It took me 15 days to get all of this done.
the next thing in line was arranging for Loan. When you start this process, you are worried about the interest rates. Soon you forget the interest rates and are worried will you be able to get it at all!!!!!
I tried my luck with all the PSU bank, to no good results. Soon i quit this idea. Few years ago, I had bought a piece of my land, I decided, I am going to sell this . Going to MBA debt free was amazing feeling.
In between, Through google group and Facebook, I intereacted with my Would be RSM batchmates. We arranged for a meeting in Delhi. It went of well. All of us are pretty close friends already and chat/ meet on regular basis.
I also went to bengaloru to learn a basic course on Dutch. Thugh it wasnt worth it, I met karthik, another of my batch mate and caught up with lot many of my school friends
To be continued....
